About Vanessa
See bottom for a quick recap, and check out the “Books Bio” for what to expect from me as an author.

Get To Know Me
Still hanging around? Well then prepare for an info-dump because as a writer, this is the ONLY time I’m allowed to do such a thing.
~I am–and forever will be–a Jesus Freak 😉
~Chickens and dragons are my comfort animals
~I am an introvert (people drain me haha) but if I see someone who looks even shyer than I am my dormant extrovert instincts kick in and I start talkin
~Defenestration is one of my favorite words (should you be concered? Ehhh….only for my characters)
~I read a LOT. Anything from good old Dickens to a sweet contemporary romcom is fair game, though I always wander back to fantasy.
~I write in multiple genres, but magical realism, fantasy, dystopian, and some Frankenstein monster between contemporary, fantasy, and sci-fi (think Marvel) are my go-to’s.
~Coffee or tea? Depends on how much sugar I’m willing to add…
~I’ve been doing art (sketching, watercolor, acrylic, gouache, digital) for about 13 years now.
~Subscribing to my newsletter is the best way to get in touch/stay up-to-date with my latest projects
~I like to sing (not professionally though!!)
~I am a shameless LOTR nerd who’s still upset that Tom Bombadil didn’t make even the tiniest appearance in the films.
The Writing bio
How I Started
While I didn’t start writing “seriously” until around 14, I’ve been creating casts of wild characters and dropping them into crazy circumstances for as long I can remember. I dictated my earliest stories about a family of ducks near the age of 6 (illustrating the whole thing with some very…primitive art skills), and wrote my first full-length novel at 12. But don’t go looking for that one–it’ll see the light of day over my dead body.

What Can You Expect?
Vanessa…why do you have a writing bio AND a books bio?? Well, I’m glad you (maybe?) asked. This little section is all about what you can expect from me as a writer content-wise in my books:
~Brief Content Warnings at the beginnings of every book. If you don’t know what a Content Warning is, think of it like a rating system, but for books. The kinds of Content Warnings you can expect from my books are things like blood/gore, violence, or anything else I want people to know about before they read. This doesn’t mean all (or any) of my books contain these things, it simply means that if they should, you will be notified beforehand.
Long Story Short?
If you’re a reader: I’d be honored to have my books added to your endless TBR pile 😉
If you’re a writer: KEEP WRITING NO MATTER WHAT!! And come hang out when you need more reminders like that.
If you’re an artist: Remember everyone progresses at their own pace, and time and effort always lead to improvement (even if u can’t see it right now) <3
And if you’re all three, congrats! We’re in the same crazy boat.
